Salcombe's Offshore Lifeboat
Hand Painted Ceramic Picture Tile 11"x14"
Salcombe Harbour lies at the most southerly tip of Devon and its notorious sand bar has proven treacherous for mariners. The rugged coastline to the east & west of Salcombe, combined with the elements has proven to be a constant contest for shipping and the lifeboat, which has been established in the town since 1869.
Salcombe now has an inshore Atlantic 75 and offshore Tamar Class lifeboat, depicted here on a hand painted ceramic tile as it speeds out of the harbour to sea.
Note:-
· All tiles are supplied with a felt backing and picture hook. If you wish to incorporate the tile into a tiled wall soak it in hot soapy water for 20 minutes so the backing can be removed
· Because each tile is hand crafted there will be slight variances from tile to tile
· Glazed surface cracks is a normal characteristic of this art form
· They are not recommended for outdoor use
